On February 24, 2026, at approximately 4:46 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a box van on Union Boulevard at Woodland Hills Drive. Officers responded and learned the motorcycle was northbound when the van turned left in front of the motorcycle. Despite medical intervention, the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene.

Based on the circumstances, the CSPD Major Crash Team responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. At this time, impairment is not suspected, although speed is still being investigated as a contributing factor.

On February 27, 2026, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased motorcyclist and identified him as 28-year-old Eligah Cobb.

This was the 6th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there was one traffic fatality. In the last 365 days, there have been 58 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
