Deerfield Hills, one of four City of Colorado Springs community centers, along with RISE Southeast Coalition will host the Colorado Springs Walkability Summit 2023 on Friday, Sept. 22 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The summit which takes places at Peak Vista Community Health Center on Jet Wing Dr., aims to ignite conversations that will formulate actionable strategies to enhance walkability in Colorado Springs, fostering a healthier and more sustainable community.

Guest speakers to include urban planners, policymakers and health experts will discuss walking as a primary mode of transportation, the impact of walkable environments on physical and mental well-being, and the crucial aspect of equitable access to walkable spaces for all members of society. Community advocates and residents will have the opportunity to engage in workshops that will encourage active participation with solutions to implement in their own communities.

The City of Colorado Springs Deerfield Hills Community Center and RISE Southeast Coalition are dedicated to promoting sustainable urban development, community engagement, and the creation of livable cities for all and invite the community to be a part of the dialogue to shape the future of Colorado Springs.
