It’s Earth Month and there are several ways to get involved and celebrate in Colorado Springs on Saturday, April 22. Free community events are taking place at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Garden of the Gods Park, and Meadows Park Community Center.

26th Annual Earth Day Celebration at Garden of the Gods

The 26th annual Earth Day Celebration at Garden of the Gods is Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. This free community event will feature interactive activities for attendees of all ages. Demonstrations, educational booths, crafts and live animal experiences are among the offerings slated for the day.

Free parking is available at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Due to the Special Olympics’ Polar Plunge held at Rock Ledge Ranch, parking will be limited.

30th Street will be closed in both directions between Gateway and Fontanero roads. Access to Garden of the Gods Park and the Visitor & Nature Center will be open with access from the north on 30th Street. Visitors should follow all onsite detour signs and prepare for congestion when entering and exiting the park.

The annual event aims to celebrate Earth Day by providing free family fun and education about the environment through green thinking and living. Visit GardenOfGods.com for more information.
