On April 29, 2023, CSPD Officers investigated an assault on an at-risk adult in the 2000 block of Eagle View Drive. At the time of the investigation, they established probable cause to arrest 21-year-old Christian Andrews for Crimes Against At Risk Adults, a class three felony.
On May 13, 2024, the victim of the assault succumbed to his injuries. The CSPD Homicide Unit was advised and continued the investigation that was initiated by patrol. On May 15, 2023, the El Paso County Coroner conducted an autopsy on the victim, identified as 74-year-old Michael Olson of Colorado Springs. His death was ruled a homicide.
This is the 9th homicide in the city of Colorado Springs in 2023. At this time last year, there were 21 homicides investigated.
