On Thursday, September 21, 2023, at approximately 2:08 AM., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) was notified of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, near the intersection of Fountain Boulevard and Murray Boulevard. The pedestrian died on the scene as a result of the crash and the involved vehicle fled the scene.
On Thursday, September 21, 2023, the El Paso County Corner conducted an autopsy of the deceased pedestrian and identified her as 47-year-old Tawnya Wever of Colorado Springs.
Evidence indicated the involved vehicle to be a black 2019-2021 Honda Passport. The vehicle may have damage to its front end. This vehicle was last seen driving east on Fountain Boulevard towards Jet Wing Drive.
The CSPD Major Crash Team is asking for the community’s help in locating the vehicle or identifying the driver.
