The City of Colorado Springs Community Development Division is now the Housing and Community Vitality Department!

I'm honored to have been chosen by Mayor Yemi Mobolade to serve as the City of Colorado Springs Chief Housing Officer leading the newly created Housing and Community Vitality Department.

Naming a Chief Housing Officer to the City of Colorado Springs executive team within the 1st 100 days of taking office is a fulfillment of one of Mayor Yemi’s campaign promises. Elevating the Community Development Division to a City Department of Housing and Community Vitality signifies the ongoing focus and drive that the Mayor will bring to these issues during his administration.

Housing and Community Vitality staff will continue the City’s partnerships with nonprofits, developers and engaged community stakeholders. Our mission continues to be investing federal, state, and local resources to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and access to quality affordable and attainable homes for all Colorado Springs residents.

We look forward to stepping up our work on housing affordability, homelessness prevention, and thriving neighborhoods under our new Mayor's leadership. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Colorado Springs truly is a great city to live and work in.

Onward & Upward!
Steve Posey
Chief Housing Officer
