Colorado Springs City Council Leadership is responding to the numerous incorrect reports about the Southeast Strong Neighborhood Plan. Leadership has met with Southeast stakeholders and recognizes there has been significant conversation in the community regarding the Southeast Strong Neighborhood Plan, including some misinformation suggesting that a vote on the plan was recently delayed. We want to provide clear and accurate information.
At no point has the proposed Southeast Strong Plan been scheduled for consideration by City Council. It has never appeared on a City Council agenda planner or any formal published meeting agendas. As a result, no vote has been postponed or delayed.
City Council is currently reviewing the plan and doing our due diligence to consider the implications and any possible adjustments that need to be made before it comes to a City Council Work Session for open discussion. The City Planning Department has been working on this plan for quite a few years and City Council plans to take the necessary time to review the proposal.
We encourage residents to continue engaging with verified sources for updates and to reach out with any questions. City Council Leadership remains committed to transparency, open communication, and supporting initiatives that strengthen our community.
