COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -  Colorado Springs Police Chief Peter Carey will retire at the beginning of February, the City announced today. Carey has served as chief since 2011 and joined the Colorado Springs Police Department as an officer in 1984.

In 2016, a near-record 34 people died from crashes in Colorado Springs. The city has identified the top intersections where crashes occurred last year. Topping the list is I-25 and Cimarron Street.
