June is Bike Month and there are multiple ways to celebrate cycling in Colorado Springs all month including Bike to Work Day and various bike clinics throughout the city.

Bike to Work Day returns on Wednesday, June 26. Riders can partake in a free breakfast at any of more than 30 breakfast stations on the urban trail system and at local businesses throughout the City from 6-9 a.m.

New this year, to gear up for Bike to Work Day, local businesses around Colorado Springs will host bike clinics throughout the month to educate the public on bike maintenance, safety, equipment, and more. These events are open to the public and free to attend.

“Bike month is a great time to celebrate our cycling infrastructure, our robust trail network and the connectivity it provides in the City of Colorado Springs,” said Theresa Randall, city planner. “The experience of cycling to work changes the chemistry of the day - not only through positive human interactions, but also with the reduction of stress and increase of energy that results from moderate daily exercise. We are grateful for the local businesses supporting Bike to Work Day and we invite all residents to participate in the activities this month.”

Bike to Work Day is organized by the City of Colorado Springs and sponsored, in part, by breakfast station sponsors, KOAA-News 5, the Gazette, and 98.9 Magic FM.

Breakfast stations and bike clinics are first-come, first-served and do not require registration.

Cycling supportive employers can join the fun as a Corporate Champion, which offers an excellent opportunity to promote wellness and a fun activity for employees to take part. Colorado Springs businesses and organizations are encouraged to sign up to learn how to champion the cause.
