Written Test Information
The written test will be a multiple choice test, consisting of five sub-tests designed to measure constructs required for successful job performance as a police officer.

- Writing Ability
- Situational Judgment/Human Relations
- Reasoning/Analyzing
- Reading Comprehension
Those eligible to test will receive an email with information on how to take their written test. A candidate orientation guide can be purchased at this link.
Oral Interview Information
For those candidates that pass the written examination with a score of 69% or higher, instructions to complete the video based interview will be sent. A panel consisting of CSPD Sworn Officers will rate the oral interview. Applicants will be asked questions and assessed an overall score on their responses. Written test scores and oral board scores will be combined to determine banding.
When advised, reasonable accommodations will be made in order for an “otherwise qualified applicant” with a disability to participate in the testing process (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991). Applicants who require reasonable accommodations to test should contact our agency by the close of the application process.
