The Colorado Springs Police Department is now using a continuous hiring model – hiring an academy every 18 weeks.

To make the path into a law enforcement career with the Colorado Springs Police Department more accessible, CSPD has revised the minimum education requirement for police recruit to a high school diploma or GED. This update expands opportunities and supports a broader, more diverse applicant pool. This update reflects our commitment to attracting a wider range of qualified individuals who have the character, commitment, and potential to succeed in this profession. While the minimum education requirement has changed, our hiring process remains thorough, and we continue to uphold the high standards expected of those who serve our community.

Our employment process begins by completing an online application and proceeds through online testing and interviewing. Specific instructions are emailed directly to candidates after the online application.
