The City of Colorado Springs is partnering with Colorado Springs Utilities to improve a segment of the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, a part of the Legacy Loop. This project will include updating 1,500 feet of infrastructure including the removal of nine electrical poles and wires attached overhead, converting them underground.  These improvements will provide for a more user friendly trail corridor. The total cost of the project is $738,448.77.

The Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, between Uintah Street and West Fontanero Street on the west side of Monument Creek will be closed for approximately nine weeks beginning Monday, July 24, 2023. Work will take place Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please follow the detour signs in place during this time. Thank you for your patience while we work to improve this area.

The funding for this project is shared with Colorado Springs Utilities with the Trails, Open Space and Parks sales tax providing 60% of the funding.
