All residential and business access will be open along Union Blvd. The traffic impacts on the bridge have an expected duration of 5 months.
The project includes:
- Deck Patching
- Installing a waterproof membrane at the bridge and the pedestrian tunnel
- Asphalt Milling and Pavement Replacement
- Removal and Replacement of fill material
- Guardrail remediation
- Concrete rehabilitation
- Sidewalk widening and curb and gutter modifications
- Modifications to the median
- Modifications to the merge lane onto N. Union from Acacia Drive
- Trail modifications
- Addition of a concrete barrier wall at the south bound side
- Handrail additions
For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.
