Landscaping Requirements
The seasonal closure of landscape inspections occurred on Friday, October 25, 2024. City Planning anticipates resuming inspections in spring of 2025 based on seasonal weather conditions. For questions about submitting Financial Assurance, please contact DREPlanInfoSMB@coloradosprings.gov.
Landscape requirements have been established for the design, installation, and maintenance of landscapes in Colorado Springs that intend to do the following;
- Contribute ecologically and aesthetically for the growth and economic prosperity of the City;
- Achieve healthy, attractive, and safe environments according to recognized water conservation principles; and
- Conserve, protect, and promote the unique natural identity and environment of the City.
City of Colorado Springs landscape requirements can be found in Part 9, Article 4 of the Unified Development Code (UDC).
Pre-Submittal/Comment Review Meetings
On the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, Landscape Staff will be available to meet with applicants to discuss potential submittals or review comments from applications that are not yet in the system. Please coordinate with Greg Stachon, Gregory.Stachon@ColoradoSprings.gov, to sign up for one of the six 30-minute time slots.
