The City of Colorado Springs is now accepting applications for the 2027 Lodgers and Automobile Rental Tax (LART) Grant Program through Friday, May 22, supporting events and projects that bring visitors to the community and generate local economic impact.

LART funding helps support events and projects, encourage tourist activity, and provide economic and cultural benefits by drawing visitors to Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply and review all application materials before submitting.

New this year, the application process is fully online, making it easier for applicants to complete and submit materials. A full overview of key dates, deadlines, and application details is available at ColoradoSprings.gov/LARTGrants.

Public information sessions

The City will host two public information sessions at City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Ave., to help prospective applicants understand the process and ask questions:

  • Thursday, April 30, 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 14, 4:30 p.m.

Staff will provide an overview of the program, walk through application requirements, and highlight updates for this year’s cycle.

To strengthen the review process, the City has partnered with five tourism-sector organizations to evaluate applications within their areas of expertise. These partners will score applications using standardized criteria, with final recommendations reviewed by the LART Citizens’ Advisory Committee and approved by City Council.

Funding for the LART Grant Program is generated through a tax paid by visitors when they stay at local hotels or rent cars in Colorado Springs and is reinvested back into the community.
