The southbound South Academy Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound Milton Proby Parkway will close at 6 a.m. on Monday, January 26. The closure allows for water and drainage utility upgrades in the area.
This closure will be in place approximately until the end of May. This schedule depends on weather and is subject to change.
Motorists should use Hancock Expressway to connect to eastbound Milton Proby Parkway. From Milton Proby Parkway, continue east to access Colorado Springs Airport via the designated detour route.
This project is funded by voters through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA). It is the first major rebuild of South Academy Boulevard since it opened in 1969. The north section was completed in late 2024. For more information or to sign up for newsletter or text updates, please visit ColoradoSprings.gov/AcademyBlvdImprovements.
