Tejon Street will fully close between Colorado Avenue and Kiowa Street from April 20–24 to complete final paving and crosswalk installation as part of the Tejon Street Revitalization Project.

The closure allows crews to complete milling and asphalt overlay at the Tejon Street and Pikes Peak Avenue intersection, followed by pavement striping and installation of decorative granite crosswalks. Pedestrian access will remain open throughout the work zone.

Planned traffic impacts:

  • April 20–21: Full closure of Tejon Street between Colorado Avenue and Kiowa Street for milling and asphalt overlay
    • No on-street parking within the project area
    • Pedestrian access maintained
  • April 22–24: Closure continues for pavement striping and installation of granite pavers in Tejon Street crosswalks
    • Tejon Street reopens after April 24
  • April 27–May 8: Tejon Street open
    • Intermittent closures on Pikes Peak Avenue for crosswalk installation

Motorists should expect delays, follow posted detours, and use alternative routes when possible.

On-street parking will be unavailable at times during this phase. Nearby parking is available at the South Nevada Street garage, as well as City-owned garages at 127 E. Kiowa St. and 215 N. Cascade Ave. All City garages offer free parking on Sundays.

This work represents the final phase of the Tejon Street Revitalization Project, which has improved pedestrian access, expanded outdoor dining space, enhanced stormwater infrastructure, and added new landscaping in downtown Colorado Springs.

All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
