The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Robbery Unit has concluded a multi-year bank robbery investigation. Between October 2020 and December 2020, four banks in the Colorado Springs area were robbed by the same male suspect.  In each of the robberies the suspect threatened to injure, kill, or shoot the victims, although weapons were never seen, and no victims were injured.  The robberies took place as follows:

10/15/2020 - ENT Credit Union - 3125 Jet Wing Drive

10/26/2020 - TCF Bank - 4330 N. Academy Boulevard

11/17/2020 - Key Bank - 5725 North Academy Boulevard

12/28/2020 - Chase Bank - 4190 Austin Bluffs Parkway

On 09/08/2022 the Huntington Bank located at 4330 North Academy Boulevard was robbed by a male suspect under similar circumstances as the 2020 robberies.  Detectives were able to gather additional evidence and determined the same suspect had committed all 5 robberies.  After a comprehensive investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Colorado Springs resident Lorenzo Herrera.

On 09/22/2022 Robbery Unit detectives, K-9 officers, and patrol officers were able to locate Herrera and take him into custody without incident. Herrera has been charged with 4 counts of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Attempted Aggravated Robbery.
