Detectives from the Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide / Assault Unit continue to investigate the shooting that occurred on May 2, 2022, at 3290 Austin Bluffs Parkway. 

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 23-year-old Kevarris Norris from Colorado Springs.  Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Norris on two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Norris was contacted, taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County jail without incident. An arrest photo of Kevarris Norris will be released on Twitter when available.

The Colorado Springs Police Department would like to thank the community for their assistance in identifying Mr. Norris.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide / Assault Unit is seeking community assistance in identifying the male pictured below.

On May 2, 2022, at approximately 5:44 pm, Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) were dispatched to the Circle K, located at 3290 Austin Bluffs Parkway, for a shooting call for service. Upon arrival, Officers located two adult individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives with the Homicide/Violent Crimes unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

Preliminary information indicates that a male suspect entered the Circle K and shot the employee inside the business. The suspect then exited the business and shot a second victim who was at the gas pump. The suspect drove away from the scene in the second victim’s vehicle, which has since been located.  Both victims suffered significant injuries however are expected to survive.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black male, possibly late teens or early twenties, wearing all black clothing, black mask, and black backpack.  Please note the distinct black and white pattern of the hoodie worn by the suspect, in the surveillance photos.
