On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased victim, who has been identified as 18-year-old Jesus Gonzalez Martinez, a resident of Colorado Springs. While the Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, Mr. Gonzalez Martinez’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
The suspect in this case has been identified as 26-year-old Dylan Miller, of Colorado Springs. Mr. Miller was taken into custody on December 24, 2022, and later booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charge of Manslaughter.
Mr. Gonzalez Martinez’s death is the 54th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2022. The Colorado Spring Police Department had investigated 44 homicides this time last year.

Patrol officers responded to the 4800 block of Rusty Nail Pt for a reported accidental shooting. Officers located one male with a critical injury from a gunshot wound, who was taken to a local hospital. Officers located the shooter on scene along with witnesses. There is no threat to the public and officers are not looking for any other suspects. Violent Crimes Detectives responded to continue the on-going investigation.
