TIn response to a recommendation from the 2022 Transparency Matters study, in 2023 the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) selected the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) to conduct an extensive study of CSPD’s training in defensive tactics, de-escalation of police-citizen encounters, procedural justice, and response to persons in crisis. 

The Colorado Springs Police Department Community Relations Unit has developed a new program called “PLAY COS,” which is aimed at creating more opportunities for positive interactions between officers and community members.

The Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force offers FREE educational presentations to help parents, kids, educators and caretakers understand how to keep kids safer online.
