PRCS Background 2020

Update! As of Feb. 6, El Paso County is in Level Yellow on the state’s dial framework. The following list shows operational changes made at our facilities and to our programming in this less restrictive level. For the current status of facilities, programs and services not found in the below list, please visit the respective web pages for more information on COVID response.

  • Community centers are renting space at a limited capacity, serving as afterschool and e-learning sites and providing outdoor food distribution services as scheduled
  • Sertich Ice Center allowing up to 100 skaters on ice, plus as many as 100 spectators with physical distancing in place
  • Patty Jewett Bar & Grill open daily 9 a.m. to close, offering indoor and outdoor dining at 50% capacity, plus takeout; golf tee time reservations and payment available online only
  • Valley Hi Grill & Pub open daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m., offering indoor dining at 50% capacity, plus takeout and delivery; golf tee time reservations and payment available online only
  • Outdoor sport facilities renting to groups up to 25 per activity
  • Permits for outdoor guided services and entertainment allow for a maximum of 10 people per group
  • Permits for outdoor special events allow a maximum of 175 people
  • Large pavilions are available to rent with reduced capacity; small pavilions remained closed

Parks, trails, open spaces, outdoor playgrounds and sport courts remain open for use. Interaction in these areas should be limited to those within your household and 6 feet of physical distancing should be maintained between groups.

Additional reminders:

  • Do not use parks, trails and open spaces if you are exhibiting symptoms. If you or your children are experiencing symptoms, it’s important to stay home when sick.
  • Follow the CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to, during and after use of parks or trails. Bring hand sanitizer with you to clean your hands if soap and water are not available.
  • Maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from members of other households at all times. In many cases, especially on trails, this may mean creating a single-file line. If this is not possible, find an alternate location or depart that space.
  • Wear a mask when possible.
  • While on trails, warn other users of your presence before you pass, and step aside to let others pass. Signal your presence with your voice, bell or horn.
