For information, questions and approvals for modifications to an existing structure, new structure or demolition within the Historic Preservation Overlay zone, please contact Hannah VanNimwegen at (719) 385-5365 or at hvannimwegen@springsgov.com. For re-roofing of an existing structure within the Overlay zone, please contact the Development Review Enterprise office at (719) 385-5982.

Below is information to consider when applying for Historic Preservation Board approval:

The North End Historic District Design Standards, which were adopted by City Council, are which requests are reviewed against: 

The Old North End Interpretive Guide helps interpret and support the aforementioned design standards for property owners and contractors. The Interpretive Guide document as published on February 12, 2016 has been approved by the Historic Preservation Board. Please confirm whether an updated version has been approved by the Board before referencing it in a request:

The links below are additional information on the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation and the Colorado Tax Credit for Certified Rehabilitation program. The Colorado Tax Credit for Certified Rehabilitation tax incentive program uses the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation to determine whether a project is eligible for tax credits.
